As part of the project for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, we designed 3D immersive, virtual museum experience for FIFA Museum, presented by Hyundai. Collaborating with the talented team at Grumpy Sailor and Unbound to develop the experience, visitors were taken on a captivating journey through the rich history of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™. The goal was to honour the trailblazers of women's football, unveil the fascinating narratives behind the artefacts, and ignite inspiration for generations to come.

In this phase of the project, my key role was to create stunning virtual landscapes, rich in textures and colours, that established the unique ambience of each virtual room. The landscape design assisted the user journey and carefully complemented the stories and artefacts while framing graphics and highlighting navigation.

Utilizing cutting-edge photogrammetry technology, physical artifacts were seamlessly transitioned from the museum into the digital realm, transforming them into highly detailed, realistic 3D objects with the ability to rotate 360 degrees.

VISUAL STYLE GUIDE

Working through the different stages of the user journey I developed a style guide to direct 3D artists on colour palettes, textures and materials for specific rooms and transitions.

VIRTUAL MUSEUM ROOMS

Rounds of art working led to distinct visual identities for each room of the virtual experience. The rooms incorporated graphics, colours and textures featured in the FIFA Museum exhibition in Tumberlong Park.
